I have a strongly held belief as a producer that the best chance of success an artist has is to focus on creating what feels utterly true to themselves. Amidst all the pressure in this world and this business to manufacture a marketable persona, my goal is to make my studio a refuge from that noise where artists come to uncover their true identity, and embody it unapologetically. It's my hope that the artists I work with, if nothing else, come away from the process feeling encouraged and emboldened to chase after what makes them unique.
My passion as a musician is trying to find the intersection between bold, original choices and the familiar, nostalgic sounds which ground us and pull on our heartstrings. That's the adventure. The challenge is also the fun part. Trying to open your mind wide enough to imagine something new while keeping your feet on the ground enough that anybody knows what the hell you're talking about.
